What do you think?

I have 2 kids, neither of whom are named after anyone.
We already have a girl's name, but now we need a boy's name.
My mom passed away in January 2012, and if it's a boy, I'd really like to name him after her.
Is it okay to do that considering the brother and sister who aren't named after anyone?
Or what about the other grandparents?

My mom's name was Diena, and I think Dean is a really nice name, especially since she always called me "Dien."

I don't know what my partner thinks about it, but I was just curious to hear other people's thoughts, hence my question.

No, I don't think your other kids or grandparents would think it's bad/stupid/weird if you named your son after him.. I just think: I wouldn't mind if one of my sisters was named after me and I wasn't..

Besides the fact that your mom is named Diena, don't you think Dean is still a nice name anyway?

    Good luck!

Thank you all for your reply.
Dean won't be it, my husband doesn't think it's a nice name.

I find it strong and tough, but well, looking for another name.
