named after grandma Gerry

We'd really like to name our daughter after the grandmas. For one grandma, we've got it figured out, but does anyone have some cool tips for a derivative of Gerry? We're looking for something a bit hip and edgy.
Can't wait to hear your ideas!

Tough call, Gerry is just not really hip and/or cool

I think Geertje is nice, just like Annoniem says!

    Good luck!

    Phew, tricky...
I can't get past Gemma (as an addition)...

Out of all the names, I think Gitte is the hippest!
But honestly, even with this name... I don't get that "wow" feeling...
    Anyway, good luck!

Tricky, huh? I didn't think about it for nothing; I'll seek some help on a forum :-)

But thanks for thinking along with me; there are definitely some nice options coming up that we hadn't considered before. I think Gitte and Geeke are quite lovely.

Haha.. we had exactly the same problem with the 2 grandmas... Gerda and Gerrie..
    Awesome, isn't it!?
Because I didn't want to impose both names on my child (and couldn't come up with a decent abbreviation either), it ended up being Gerra.. Fun? No.. not at all.. but well, it's about the principle of whether you want to name after someone or not, and we really wanted to, so we just took a combination (literally).. haha.. Well, it's on her birth certificate, and as an abbreviation, but otherwise we don't really use it..
