New and uncertain

Wen-mv2
Hi hi!

I'm Wendy and I'm new here.
I'm 33 years old and have 2 children, a girl of 9 and a boy of almost 6.
I've had a new partner for a year now (45 years old) and we'd really like to have a baby together.
Since this would be his first, it's all extra exciting and beautiful...
Well, I was pregnant within 3 months with my first and with my second it was a hit right away...

Well, I know that I'm older now and my partner is too, but we've been trying since May 5th (after having the IUD removed that had been in for 4 years) but unfortunately it hasn't worked out yet...
I got my period today and for the first time I feel insecure, anxious and disappointed about it...
Of course, it averages out to a year, but since I got pregnant so quickly with my first two, I'm afraid something might be wrong...
Who relates to this or who can make me feel a little less insecure or give tips on how to let go of the desire for more children a bit?
I've always wanted a big family and always hoped it would be with my ex-husband, but unfortunately that wasn't meant to be....

Sorry I'm coming at you so bluntly by the way!

Xx
Wendy

Enjoy the relationship you have with your partner right now... When a baby comes, a baby comes, and if not, it just wasn't meant to be.. You can't force having children unfortunately..
And sometimes it might be for the best too..

I've always gotten pregnant right away, but there's something that means I've had 2 miscarriages already and now I'm just squeezing my hands together hoping that number 3 will work out this time..

I'm glad you already have 2 healthy kids and they say that once you stop trying and accept it, it often works out..

I wish I could say I already had 2 running around.. Then I'd be blessed long ago..

But well, that's how it is..

Relax and it'll all work out for sure.

I'm definitely blessed with my 2 kids and wish everyone could experience that love!

But unfortunately, it doesn't make the wish any smaller or less...

Hope you're doing well with your next pregnancy!

I think those clichés like "be glad you already have 2" and "once you get used to it, you'll be pregnant in no time" are really annoying. For someone who really wants another baby, it's just as frustrating and sad as it is for someone trying for the first time. Actually, for Wen-mv2, it feels like her first time again. That's how it feels to me. She has a new partner and her kids are already quite a bit older.

Wen-mv2, I totally relate to how you feel. We wanted a third child, one that would be biologically ours together. I had my IUD removed after almost two years. I also got pregnant quickly with the first two. Now it took 14 months before I was pregnant for the first time. (My whole story is on my page.) I believe that my IUD really did affect my cycle a lot. After it was removed, things were completely different. There's a period for coming off the pill, but not for the IUD. Still, I don't think this applies to everyone.

Also, the fact that you're a bit older now and have a different partner could play a role. That doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. Your hormonal balance is different now.

I know how hard this is, but give it time. You know from yourself that you're fertile; you're only on your third cycle, which is still very short. Talk about it, write down your feelings, but try not to do it too much. The more you focus on it, the harder it all becomes. I can't tell you exactly how to do that. Find distractions. But above all, give yourself time, and trust your own body.

It also feels like the first time that's completely right!
Gonna try to shift my thoughts too...

I'm already happy I found this forum to share my feelings and experiences with people...

I got a lot out of the pregnancy page forum during my first pregnancy, but unfortunately, it's not as accessible anymore...

So relatable! After the fertility shot, it took more than a year for me to get pregnant with our third. My boyfriend is 10 years younger, and it feels like our first to us now.
Although I already have 2 from a previous relationship.
Hope it won't take too much longer.

Unfortunately, it didn't work out this time...
I'm really trying to find distractions because otherwise, I won't be able to handle this long journey...
So hopefully, I'll find that button and it'll just work out in the end...

    That's sad then.

Coming days ovulation... And I always feel my ovulation so it's hard not to think about it for a bit. Any distraction tips????

A good book, a fun movie. Just chilling with friends. The household chores. Music. Those are things I used to do, especially when I was on the waiting bench.

Well, I guess I only felt my ovulation for 1 day this time instead of 5 like last time...
It's just as annoying when people ask you to go out with them... And then they give you weird looks if you don't have a glass of wine or a beer with them... Sigh

One more week until I know whether I can hang the flag or if I need to keep practicing. Do you also prefer to skip every bit of baby news? For example, on Facebook, all those photos and pregnancy stories?

    Testing tomorrow!
Even though it could also be today, I really need to have some patience....
    Oh, how exciting!!

    Are you overdue?

    1 day

But I don't want to be disappointed, so I think I really need to hold back today.

    Exciting!
