Jelle or Stijn

I've always thought Jelle is a nice name, but my husband associates it more with an alternative (long hair, wool socks) person. He thinks it sounds nice, but is afraid it's a bit of a wimpy name.

What do you all think?

My husband thinks Stijn is a beautiful name.

    My boyfriend's name is Stijn, and Jelle is one of our top 3 boy names if we were to have a son.

    I like both of them. I don't share the association your husband has with the name Jelle at all. When I think of Jelle, I think of a tough, healthy young guy!

    I also think Jelle sounds more like a healthy, outdoorsy name... like those Swedish blonde boys... similar to Lars, Sven, etc... When I think of long-haired goat-wool socks, I think more of Jelmer, Dennie, Melvin, Kevin, Enzo...
    I do like Stijn..but I've been hearing it a lot lately..it kind of fits into the category of Bram, Sem, Sam.

    I think Stijn is the prettiest. I can recognize and understand the association your husband has with the name Jelle.
