Hi everyone, I just wanted to share my story. I'm 5 weeks pregnant now. I had a miscarriage earlier. I've been with my partner for many years. Unfortunately, I haven't felt accepted by my in-laws from the start. A lot of unpleasant things have happened that led to this feeling. In my in-laws' eyes, everything is my fault, and they've never done anything wrong. Because of this attitude, I had no contact with them for a few years. For the past few months, we've been trying to reconnect. But now I notice that the same irritations are still there, and I'm still being blamed for everything. I find this so unfair. It's really getting on my nerves again. I'd actually rather have no contact with them. I'm finding that this is really stressing me out and getting me worked up. This can't be good for the pregnancy, and I'm afraid I might have another miscarriage because of it. What should I do now?

    Oh wow, that's tough...
    I'd have a good talk with your friend about it and listen to yourself. If you don't feel right about it, I'd just take a step back, especially if it's causing you stress.
    Good luck!

    @Esther,

    First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! You're already 5 weeks pregnant :-). Indeed, do what Anoniem says and set very clear boundaries. If I were you, I wouldn't want any more contact with them for me and my baby because it causes so much stress.. It sounds super familiar to me.. Well, my partner's family came over after my pregnancy during the postpartum period and it was a hell, I can tell you. There was no understanding and absolutely no respect, so think carefully.. It's just advice..

    Love, Ju or maybe Mavami
