Can you still name your daughter Isis now with all the fuss in Iraq?

That's tough, really... It's definitely a bit sensitive right now, I think. But you never know how the situation will develop there. Maybe in a year, no one will even remember. If you still think the name is nice, I'd go for it.

Uuuh I think it's totally fine..
Just like Dolfie says, nobody knows how the situation there will develop..
And besides; there are plenty of people named Isis, the name existed long before all that mess over there.

By the way, I think it's great that you thought about that, haha!

I agree with Dolfie and Kruimel... I think it's a nice name and would just go for it....

It's not my taste, but I can see why.

Sorry... I actually don't think so... once she has the name, I think it won't matter anyway... so in that sense, it can work... there are more people with that name... but if people get a birth announcement with that name... I'd expect some negative reactions.

And what if you change the name "a little"?
Ysis ... or something like that?
The pronunciation stays the same, but then you're still taking into account...

It's tough when you've got such a lovely name in mind and you (have to/want to) change it... but also understandable...

With a Y it's also quite nice, yeah!

I think it works just fine. I also thought it was a really nice name. Too bad though that a friend of mine named her cat that, so it doesn't work as a baby name for me haha.
