Pregnant or still have pregnancy hormones after a miscarriage?

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I had a miscarriage two months ago in the second trimester of my pregnancy. My period came back last month and we've started trying again. I'm now 5 days late and have a positive pregnancy test (Kruidvat brand: a clear plus, but the line is a bit lighter than the control line). Still, I'm wondering if I'm really pregnant (of course I hope so!). Could it be that I still have pregnancy hormones from my miscarriage in my system, causing a false positive?

Does anyone know more about this?

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't dare say that, but what I do know is that the pregnancy hormone stays in a woman's body for quite a while after giving birth, which means you have an increased chance of getting pregnant again.

    Hi Ronait,
That’s really tough for you, and I truly hope your wish comes true.

I know that HCG can stay in your blood for 2 to 3 months after a miscarriage. Keep an eye on it, and if you’re really unsure and want to rule that out, make an appointment with your gynecologist—you should be able to get in much faster now regarding your miscarriage.

    I’m rooting for you!

I'm going to congratulate you!!!! Because you can't get your period if you still have hCG in your body. You mentioned that you had your period last month again. So your cycle has restarted and you are now PREGNANT again!!!! Your cycle only starts up again once all the hCG has left your body.
CONGRATULATIONS I hope you find the strength to get through this pregnancy with good spirits and without too much fear. Big hug for you, girl!!!
