temperature drop and weird bleeding

Hi everyone,

Last month after ovulation I had a constant temperature above 37°C and felt very nauseous, but on Sunday it dropped to 36.2°C. On Sunday evening my period started. However, it was very dark in color, almost black. Today, Thursday, my temperature has risen again to 37°C and the bleeding has stopped. Last week I had a negative pregnancy test. Does anyone know what's going on??

Well, what can we say about this?

Test again and wait and see... there's really nothing more you can do.

I’m no longer assuming I’m pregnant, but my temperature suddenly being high again is worrying me. That usually only happens after ovulation, right? And the dark bleeding could indicate old blood, but where is my normal period?
I have so many questions and can’t really find answers. My GP just says you’ve been trying to get pregnant for 9 months, so wait another three months before he’ll consider referring me further...

your temp stays high in a pregnancy, old blood can indicate an implantation bleed, and a temp dip can indicate an implantation dip...

but i speak from experience that all these things can also mean exactly the opposite. nothing is as uncertain as 'trying to conceive' and yet you can't do anything else but wait...

was that bleeding while you were expecting your period or was it a mid-cycle bleed?

So it can indeed go in any direction... I had my period on Wednesday, when I was 28 days into my cycle. I tested right away and got a negative result. On Sunday, I was on day 32, so 4 days late, and then my temperature dropped and in the evening my 'period' started... I only noticed this when wiping. On Monday, there was more bleeding (dark), on Tuesday just a black streak in the pad, on Wednesday almost only when wiping, and today my temperature jumped up and the period is over.

    Thanks for your response :-)
