I really like Elynn. I’d probably spell it as Elin myself. Elynn will always have to be spelled that way, while Elin doesn’t or less so. I had the same dilemma when choosing the name for my daughter, Merlin.
Noémi and Mayra (instead of Mayla) were also on our top 10 list.
Both sound fresh and special but not so much that people have to ask you three times to spell your name.
I find Elynn less appealing (but definitely not ugly), and it's also a bit tricky to spell.
Mayla: such a lovely unique name!
Elynn: I’d definitely write it as Elin, it’s a bit more 'common'.
Noemi: on paper I like how it looks, but the pronunciation is less appealing.
Honestly, none of them are really my taste,
but if I have to choose, Mayla.
I don't find Noemi appealing,
and Elynn seems like such a spacey name to me,
but that's just my personal opinion.
Definitely go with what feels right for you.
Greetings, MamaDelene
I think Elynn is out; my husband's first reaction was that it looked like "aliën" and spelling is indeed a bit of an issue (though she'll probably have that problem with her surname too). And sorry, Eleny isn't really my taste, but thanks for thinking along!
I really like Mayla, but we want to give our daughter a second name Janna (named after Jan and Anna combined), and I think they look too similar
What I do really like about Noémi is that you can shorten it to Emi (Amy). Not sure if others do that either.
Why is it so hard to come up with a name! I think I've got a pretty good idea now, just need to convince my husband
I personally think Mayla is the most beautiful. I have a friend who’s called that; she’s of Italian origin, but her name is spelled differently—“Maëla”—and the pronunciation is more or less the same. It means princess.
When I was pregnant and it was going to be a girl, I would’ve given her that name...
I think Mayla is beautiful! I find the pronunciation Mayla more appealing than Meeila...
Elynn is nice, but then just go with Elin...though you hear that name quite often.
I don’t think Noémi is so beautiful...it’s a bit of a mangled Naomi, and I’m not really a fan of that name either.
