Hi ladies

My name is Matje and I'm 24 years old. I stopped taking Cezette (the mini-pill) on Feb 10th. Two weeks later I had a bleeding episode that lasted 2 days, and then after another 2 weeks I bled again, but this time it was very heavy and red. About two and a half weeks later, I had a bit of brown discharge for 2 days, along with cramps and bloating. I had been doing ovulation tests, but I think I started too late—I started testing 2 days before my brown discharge, and the test showed a faint line for 2 days, then nothing on the day of the discharge. Since then, I've had a lot of breast tenderness and feel really warm, even though I'm normally cold-blooded. I'm still dealing with gurgly guts and bloating. My period is due on April 10th. I'd love to hear your thoughts, because I don't dare discuss this with my friends—I don't want to seem like I'm obsessed with it. But am I just going through the "no-pill" adjustment, or is something else going on?

Best, Matje

Hi Matje, that sounds like it takes some getting used to. Your body needs to get going again after the mini-pill. Those bleedings and cramps are just part of it in the beginning phase. The ovulation test isn't necessarily too late, but it could be that your cycle isn't syncing up properly yet. Are you doubting? Then give your GP or midwife a quick call for reassurance. You'll figure it out.
