A third?

Hi everyone,

I’d love to hear your thoughts. I’m a 27-year-old mom and thinking about starting a third child.
I already have two big boys, 18 months and 8 months old. They’re coming so close together, I know, but our youngest was a bit of an accident, though that didn’t make him any less welcome.
I’d love a daughter, like any woman does, but I’m not sure if I should wait. My mom told me that my boys will have so much to do with each other since they’re so close in age, and that made me think about having a third to keep the age gap as small as possible.
What do you all think? Your opinion really matters to me!

Love,

    Hi hi!

If you feel good about it and it's financially possible, I'll just go for it!!
I think it's really nice if there isn't too much age difference.
We have a little boy of 14 months now and are trying for a second
How do you experience it now that there isn't such a big age difference?

    Hi hi,

    It's so busy!
Especially in the evening they can enjoy their last bottle on mom or dad's lap. But when my husband is on the late shift that's not always that easy.
I couldn't miss them for a second. When I ask our oldest son; do you want a little brother or sister he immediately says yes! He won't understand it yet but it does something to a mother's heart!

I wish you lots of success with your upcoming 2nd pregnancy!

    Greetings

    Hi there,

Yeah, I believe it can be really busy. My husband wanted to go for a second child earlier, but I was still hesitant because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to give my son enough attention. But now I'm convinced it'll work out fine. May I ask why you're having doubts?

    Greetings

I’d personally wait a bit longer. I made the mistake of having a second baby too quickly. I’m obviously overjoyed with my princesses, but I underestimated how little my first was and still needed mom’s attention, which I could only give half-heartedly because I was already pregnant with the second.

And oh, it was so tough being pregnant again—nausea, back and pelvic pain—while your oldest constantly demands your attention. Sure, it’s fun playing together; they’re in the same stage of life, but there’s also so much fighting, precisely because they’re so close in age. Both wanting to play with the same things, leading to all that rivalry.

My husband and I felt like police officers when they were little. Now, thankfully, our nanny takes over the heavy lifting, but still... If we didn’t have a nanny, I don’t think I would have survived that small age gap at all.

And I really think it's tough years like this, I see it now it's lit up and it's not so bad because of jennefer
but really without the opaire hat I don't know how I would have gotten through those tough years
I would rather look at whether you can handle it yourself instead of fun for the kids just count on a lot of fights especially because they are both so small
and dividing attention is also not easy
but this is my personal opinion and experience
don't forget to take into account how sick you can be in your pregnancy and believe me then your little ones will ask for plenty of attention and you're not looking forward to that
Good luck with your choice, greetings madelene
