Ovulation tests or temperatures?

Hi everyone,
We've started using ovulation tests. My basal body temperature suggested I'd ovulate around day 13.
I started testing on Monday and got a faint line. The day before yesterday I got another faint line, slightly lighter than Monday's. Yesterday it was even lighter than Tuesday's. I did all these tests in the evening (due to a late shift at work).
This morning (around 11 am) I tested again, and this time the line was a bit darker. Did I miss it or not?
I'm on day 13 today. I'm wondering, which is better: tracking temperature or using the tests?
