Pregnancy test

Hi everyone,

I'm a mom to a 20-month-old boy. We'd love to have a second one.
Now I realize that I was overdue last week, took a test right away --> positive. 2 days later I did another Clearblue digital test --> positive with 1-2 weeks (4 weeks pregnant) but 3 days later I got my period after all.
Then I went to my GP for a blood test, and their conclusion was also that I was pregnant, but my hCG in the blood was low (around 25-35). Now I took another Clearblue test yesterday after my period started --> negative.
What should I make of this now? I can only go to the gynecologist in 3 weeks.
Who has experienced something like this before? Am I maybe still pregnant or was it an extremely early miscarriage??

Kind regards,
I xxx

    Hi nursietje,
I don't want to worry you, but could it be that you had an early miscarriage? For some women, it feels like they're getting their period, and after that, HCG drops very quickly. If you get another blood test, you can see whether your HCG has risen or fallen. I hope it's not the case for you, but it could explain the negative test and the low HCG level.
I was also pregnant once, but I started bleeding. The doctor took blood every week and saw that the HCG was dropping: miscarriage. At the gynecologist's office, they couldn't see much except that there was nothing left in the uterus.
    I hope this helps you.

    Hi Jake,

So it was indeed a miscarriage, or as the doctor (unfortunately) put it: an early abortion

It was quite a relief. My HCG levels were indeed no longer present; I already had a suspicion, but you always hope, right...
Anyway, we can start trying again
Thanks in advance for your reply!

    Best,
    Nursietje

What do you mean an abortion?! You didn't have it removed on purpose yourself. What a blunt doctor!! It's just a miscarriage, which is serious enough already. Sorry for my intense reaction, I just find it weird that he/she phrased it like that.
