Hi ladies

I hope you can help me out with your opinions.

I have a son who just turned 1, and there's a girl, just 2 years old, who comes to watch him 3-4 times a week. But from the start, she hasn't really wanted any contact with my son. She's been here for over 7 months now, and lately it seems to be getting worse. Even when she sees him coming when we arrive, she's already shouting no no... I've talked to her parents about it, and their response was.. just leave it be.
But it's not making things any more pleasant at home.
Now I'm seriously considering stopping this arrangement because the girl clearly doesn't feel comfortable, and my son doesn't either.
What do you think?

I used the words girl and son to keep things anonymous for now.
Thanks in advance.

Greetings

Our little boy, almost 2.5, has been struggling a lot with being somewhere other than home for about half a year. At first, it was so severe that he found it a drama at grandma and grandpa's, and now it's only with strangers, which is already much better. In my opinion, it's the child's way of learning to trust people, and I'm actually glad our little boy takes his time for that. It's not always practical or cozy, but he does look out for himself that way.

I understand it's not fun for you when your babysitting child doesn't get along with our little boy right now, but I would personally keep pushing and maybe come up with ways to let them play together. It's also important not to dwell on it when he shouts a loud no, but instead show that there's no threat or anything to be afraid of. You just carry on with your normal activities, and maybe you could have her parents play with your child while she's around, so she sees there's nothing threatening going on. Good luck!
