Elena is a southern version of Helena (child of light / radiant). Traditionally, I think this name has been used across all layers of society for quite a few centuries. So I wouldn’t attach any particular connotation to it. I do think it’s really beautiful though. -

Elena, reminds me of The Vampire Diaries.. great series and definitely a beautiful woman who plays it haha.
