I'm currently pregnant with my first baby, and it's going to be a girl. I'm really fond of the name Anna, but it's becoming popular again, and I wouldn't want her to end up with three Anna's in her class. So I was thinking of Anna-Roos, with Anna as a nickname. My partner likes Anneroos too, but then I can't make an Anna out of it... What do you all think?

If you have Anna Roos and the nickname Anna, everyone will still call her Anna, just like the other three in her class. So I'd make it one name... Would you go for Anne? Or Annelynn or Annamaria? There's plenty of nice options. Love, heart

I think Anna-Roos is really beautiful.

Anna is quite common, just like Emma, which kept me from naming my girl that. But if the name is in your heart, I'd go for it. What do you think of, say, Anna Lot? It's still Anna, just a little different. Greetings, Ria

I think no matter what you choose as the second name, people are still going to call her Anna... even if you write it together like Anneroos / Annaroos.
There aren't many truly unique names out there, so I'd just go with Anna... if it's already so much on your mind (and in your heart), you can't think of anything better.

(Ps; maybe I'm overthinking this too easily, it wouldn't bother me personally that much. I was in the same class on elementary school with 4 other Annas + myself and never found it annoying)

    Good luck!

hi elze maybe you'll find anne lotte a nice name
i personally don't like it so much either when my daughter has a name that's very common
you want something unique for your little princess.
i was totally in love with the name fleur but ended up choosing another name because this one is sooooo common we wanted something that wasn't so common so i totally get you but anne lotte reminds me of anna and is nice with lotte after it.
and yes if you really love the name anna it's a shame to give it up. good luck with your choice but i totally understand you we had the same thing. greetings sanne

Hi Elze, I think Anna is an old-fashioned name that was used a lot in the past, but I still find it a nice name. I don’t think it’s given very often anymore, though. I think you can just give that name to your girl; it doesn’t come up as much anymore, but it was common in the past. It’s a well-known girls’ name, but from back then. What do you think of Anne-Lies? Greetings, Madelene

hi elze i think you should just go for the name anne
i don't think it matters if there are a lot of people with that name
you might regret it later if you didn't go for it i also wanted a unique name for my daughter yara
and look now i come across this name a lot now when i first named her that way there were few people with this name i thought i had something special but it turns out more kids have this name now so you see just go for what you like greetings annemieke

Hi Elze, if you want to make something special out of Anne, you could call her Annemijn. It still keeps the name Anna in it, but with "mijn" added, it feels a bit more special. And there will only be very few kids in the class with the name Annemijn. Good luck with your choice, greetings, Natalja
