Revyn of Révin

vaderGuest ·
My partner and I have doubts about the spelling/pronunciation.

We obviously want to keep it as simple and clear as possible for the future. We want to pronounce our son's name as ree-vin.

What is the wise choice for our unborn child: revin or révin? There are so many names that you can read in different ways, but often automatically pronounce them in one and the same way, i.e., kè-vin or sté-ven

If you want the pronunciation to sound like Ree-vin, I’d personally go with Révin.. That makes it clearer how to pronounce it, and fewer people will get it wrong! Spelling is a different story though; people will probably forget the apostrophe, but hey, it’s one or the other..

It’s a really nice name though

With a hyphen, it's with a short e. It has to be correct Dutch, so with the hyphen. Révin
