Hi other mamas,

I had a quick question. I had my last growth scan yesterday (34 weeks), and they told me our baby weighs almost 2600 grams and is about 1.5 to 2 weeks ahead in growth (she hadn't dropped yet).

Now I'm wondering, is it possible that the baby will be born earlier because she's ahead of schedule?
Well, I've said from the beginning that I have a feeling she'll come 1 or 2 weeks early.

Thanks in advance.

Best,

It could have, but it didn't have to. I gave birth spontaneously at 37 weeks to a son. He weighed 3330 grams, so if it had been 40 weeks, he would have been bigger, hihi. He's doing great otherwise, a sweet, cheerful little guy. He's already 7 months old. Good luck with the final stretch!

    Hi Jua,

My baby is 3 weeks ahead of schedule. If it's just a big baby without any medical reasons (like diabetes), etc., you can safely assume the baby is 34 weeks but just proportionally bigger. I was told it doesn't matter if I go into labor earlier. They're expecting a 10-pounder, and I'm 39 weeks tomorrow. On Friday the 27th, the plan for week 40 will be decided by the OB-GYN. I'm currently at the outpatient clinic at my own request because they can't slow down the growth, but it will still be a hospital birth.

    Best,
