Babbles
prolapse of the umbilical cord
IkkeGuest ·
Hi ladies,
I had my first ultrasound today and I'm 10 weeks and 4 days pregnant. The little heart was beating and he/she was happily wriggling around. Everything looked fine until the sonographer said at the end that she wanted to do another scan just to be sure because she noticed a small bulge near the umbilical cord. Apparently, this is normal because it could be the intestines and other organs, and even some midwives don't say anything about it because it usually goes back in after week 12. Still, I'm worried. Does anyone recognize this? When I look up omphalocele online, it doesn't make me feel any better, and the words don't really reassure me.
