Hard contractions at night!

Mommy
Hi ladies,
I have a question;
I'm 22 weeks pregnant.
I woke up last night and then suddenly got a hard belly that radiated to my hip/leg. It lasted a few seconds and then subsided. The baby was kicking a lot and clearly awake. A few minutes later, it happened again, and this time it occurred 8 times. I started to get worried, which of course made things worse. I called my midwife, and she said it was probably a combination of stress and the baby's kicks/growth. By morning, it had gone away, and my baby also calmed down.
Does anyone recognize this? Thanks!

    I didn't have it at night, but I did have it during both pregnancies. For me, it turned out to be a urinary tract infection that was causing the tight bellies. Have they checked for that already?

    Thanks for your reply! I’ve already had my urine checked and sent it for a culture test to be sure, given the ongoing sensitivity. I contacted my GP about a day after posting my question
    No longer having any issues, though my legs still feel a bit restless.
    The baby occasionally kicks, and then my belly gets a bit hard.
    Have a good weekend!

    I had this too, but because of the stress and chaos... The baby had no issues at all and was born very healthy..

    Hi sweetheart, good to hear! I notice that it's now also a reaction to restlessness or too much physical exertion. I need to better guard my limits. Last week was full of stress, but that's resolved. Thanks for your reply!
