Ladies, my son is almost 1 year old now and I was wondering if it's nice to have a 1 year and 9 months gap between my son and a possible second child. My sister says you can much better have a 2 year gap. I thought I'd ask here.

I have a son who is almost 1, just 2 more months until he turns 1. I was thinking it would be nice if he was exactly 1 year and 9 months older than his sister or brother, but I don't know if that would be too much. My sister got me doubting; she thinks I should wait 2 years and that 1 year and 9 months is too fast and too hectic. What do you personally prefer: 1 year and 9 months apart or 2 years? I'd love to hear your opinions. Greetings, Miranda

For us, there was exactly 21 months (so 1 year and 9 months) between them, and yes, that’s busy. But it’s also busy when the youngest is 2, 3, or 4. The nice thing is that the youngest is now 2 and the oldest is almost 4, and they’re the best of buddies, which we thought was really important. So go with your gut feeling and let the rest be .

Thanks Iza for your message. I think I'll just go with it indeed, and you're right, I should listen more to my gut feeling and let the rest chatter away. Greetings, Miranda
