pajamas?

Hi everyone,

just a quick practical question. It's kind of trivial, but I was wondering anyway. Can you wear pajama pants after giving birth? A nightgown seems more comfortable to me, but maybe one with buttons: more convenient for breastfeeding?

I know I'm focusing on the details, but I am a bit like that (focused on everything).

Yes, that works fine. I had one that was perfect for breastfeeding. There was an opening under the bust on the front that could be closed for privacy when needed, but I could lift it up during breastfeeding so I stayed dressed.

I actually found a pair of pajamas really comfortable! Especially with those large maternity pads and loose underwear, it was nice to have pajama pants.

You can find lots of pajamas with a top specifically designed for breastfeeding, for example:

Why do you need to have large pads after giving birth?

After giving birth, you'll bleed. That can last a few days. It varies from one person to the next.
Have you not received anything for that yet, either at home or in your hospital bag? You really should have it at home.
Mine came in my partner's kit.

Then better look for a good pajama after all :-) thank you!

Miss Butterfly: I didn’t have those large sanitary pads in my hospital bag and had to get them myself. It’s handy to have them ready in advance since you really do need them. A loose pajama with a zipper is also ideal, so you don’t have to tug over your wound.
