Hi ladies, I was wondering, am I the only one who doesn't care whether two names go well together?

Gotta be honest, I do take that into account.
He doesn't think it looks nice if you have, say, Jason and Teun or Liv and Sarah.
Totally different names, one set really Dutch, the other a bit more special. If there's that much difference, it's like you ran out of inspiration. But what matters most is that you like them yourself. Oh, and I think your girls' names really go well together.

but isn't it also fun to give your kids different kinds of names? my two little girls have special names and my third has a Dutch name

And their adult life later on is much longer than their childhood, so it doesn't matter at all whether their names match. They'll each follow their own path, and no one will even think about whether Piet's name matches his brother's when they're already in their 30s. Greetings, Linda

My kids both don't have many upcoming names, one comes more often and the other almost not in the Netherlands. The names don't really fit together, now it's been over 7 years like this, it just belongs like this. We are pregnant again now and my preference this time is for a Dutch name. While I really liked other names for the 2 pregnancies before. (went miscarriages)

That's nice to read that I'm not the only one, by the way. I read that you're pregnant again, congratulations! Beertje, greetings, Linda.

Thanks Linda! I can see why people do it. I do take bullying into account, which I also find quite tough, but yeah. It's also pretty sad if your kid is called W.C. Eend

no that's true i do like unusual names but not ones like princess or gold those are terrible but what i meant was that i never really understand why people make such a big deal about the second child's name having to match the oldest one if you think about it they'll grow up to be adults and then they'll each go their own way on their own path so they'll really be two different people then no one will care that piet's name doesn't match his brother's who lives all the way in the Hague while piet lives in amsterdam i'm just giving an example i'm felicia and i'm 27 i have two kids and live with my family my sister is fifteen and still lives at home with our mom she has a totally different life than me and her name is deveney my mom never cared whether our names matched because you're all completely independent individuals with your own personalities greetings linda ps i'm felicia linda linda is my second name greetings linda

    True!

Or names that all start with the same letter, or end with the same letter, or something like that. I don't get it either. Still happens quite often, and apparently those people find it important! Maybe something similar to naming after someone? Personally, I don't like it either.

indeed, beertje also something like names of children that all start with the same letter my mother has a friend and there the names of her children both had to start with an m she herself is margriet her husband maarten her son martijn and their daughter marissa she has

She was also stressing about finding a name for her kids that starts with the letter M, since she and her husband both have names starting with M. Unbelievable, but yeah, kind of funny in a way. Anyway, glad you get what I mean. We think the same thing. Greetings, Linda
