Ladies, I'm expecting a girl and I knew the name very early on. My due date is December 12th, but I wanted to ask for your opinion. I want to call her Princess. Is that okay, or is that name too fancy?

Sorry, that annoying mobile keeps typing wrong; it went crazy. I wanted to ask: do you think the name Prinses is okay or too out there? I've liked it since I was 5 months pregnant, and it's unfortunately stayed the same. But I'd like to know if others find it too out there or if it's okay. Greetings, Marilouise

If you really want my honest opinion, I don’t think it’s a beautiful name.
I also honestly think she might get teased with it sometimes.
And later on when applying for jobs. Sorry, but it’s your choice anyway.
And almost due, congrats in advance!

I don't think it's very suitable either. Princess might be cute for a baby, but little girls grow up. Don't forget that your daughter will have her name for her whole life. How would you have felt if you had been called Princess? Sorry for my honesty.....
Good luck with the final touches!

If you feel good about that name, go for it! What does your partner or husband think about it?

hi ladies, thank you so much for your honest opinions. i don't think my name is very popular, so maybe it's too unique. hi anonymous, you asked what my husband thinks about it. he's not really a fan of this name, but he wanted to do it for me. he doesn't really consider it a name, which is why i thought i'd check here what others think. he would prefer to call her Fay or Sterre. greetings, marilouise

    Fay, that's really nice.

Hi anonymous, so you like the name my husband would want to give? Do you like Fay more than Princess? Greetings, Marilouise

Yeah, I think Fay is a nice name. I sent you the first anonymous message.
Sorry that I don’t think Princess is a nice name.
You can always use it as a nickname; she’ll be your little princess, but as a calling name, I really liked Fay better. Good luck, hopefully you two can decide together.

Oh, and maybe it's an option to choose a name that means princess.

Hi Anonymous, I appreciate your honesty. How does the name Sterre sound to you? That's also a name my husband liked, and I was thinking I could just give her Princess Mechiel as the second name. Greetings, Marilouise

Definitely fun to choose Princess as a middle name.
    Sterre is a special name.
Do you feel more comfortable with this name? Sterre Princess sounds beautiful ....

Yeah, anonymous, you know what it's like. I was totally in love with the name Prinses, but I didn't want it to sound too out there to other people. Since my husband really likes the names Fay and Sterre, I talked it over with him again so he could make his choice. He's absolutely thrilled now; he thanked me a bunch of times and thought it was a good idea to take Prinses as the second name. He asked me to choose between Fay Prinses or Sterre Prinses. So I've chosen Sterre Prinses. Her last name is Van Leeuwen, right? Greetings, Marilouise

    Looks really beautiful!!
Yes, it's also really hard to have to give up a name. But it's also important that you both agree on it.

I think you both came out well with it. Sterre princess of lions. Lovely!

I understand you need to get used to it, but I think you're giving your daughter such a beautiful name and it'll be easier to use.

Enjoy your little princess so much when she's here.
    Love
