Mila or Indy

I'm over 30 weeks pregnant with a girl. I can't decide between Mila and Indy (and Liv, but that'll probably be her middle name). We have to decide ourselves, but I'm curious about your opinions!

Hi Wendy, congratulations on your pregnancy! I’d go with Mila as the first name. I don’t really like Indy; it reminds me of Diana Jones. But that’s just a matter of taste, of course. I’d choose Mila as the first name.

By the way, what do you think of the girl's name Djamila? It means beauty in Arabic. There used to be a pure Dutch girl with blonde hair and blue eyes in my class named Djamila. I thought it was such a nice and unique name back then, and I still do now. The meaning is really beautiful. You can also shorten Djamila to Mila, but it's just an idea, of course. Good luck with your baby! Best wishes, Felicia

I already know someone with that name and it's not really our style. We'd prefer something shorter and more cool. But it's nice that you're commenting. I find it so frustrating that I can't decide... such an indecisive type!

Okay, now I think Mila is beautiful; I’d go for that one if I were you. And what I did with both my daughters when I was 5 months pregnant was talking to them already using the name I liked, so they got used to it. I also wanted her name to be set then already, otherwise you can’t get used to what it’s like to have that name. My daughters are named Yara and Lemia. Greetings, Felicia

Is Indy okay? What about Lindy?

I'd go for Mila. Sounds beautiful, feminine, sweet, and at the same time strong. Good luck with your choice. Best wishes, Joy

Thanks, girls! Indy doesn't seem to be that popular here. I think it's beautiful on its own, but it's a shame it's in the top 20. Oh well.
