Right time to get pregnant?

Dear ladies, I'm 25 and work full-time. My partner and I have been together for 11 years and have (unfortunately) been through a lot, which has made our relationship very strong. My partner is 27 and we both work full-time. Our relationship is solid; we know what we have in each other and know each other inside out. We own our own house with plenty of space (no garden). Now we're starting to feel the urge to expand our lives with a child. Due to my partner's past, we've accumulated debt, namely 20,000 to my parents. We're busy paying it off monthly, and otherwise, things are going well financially. Our relationship with my parents is great. Now, my parents are getting older, and I'd really like them to become grandparents and enjoy their grandchild for as long as possible if we decide to start trying for kids. So my question is whether you think it's wise to start trying now, or wait until the debt is paid off? Love, Kayley

    Hi there!

I grew up with 3 sisters and parents in debt, way more than yours... I (we) never lacked anything!!
So it can work, so if I were you I'd go for it, you have everything else in order so go for it!

    Hi.

If you can manage with one kid and still keep paying off your debt, there's really no problem. We don't see diapers and formula as a huge expense, and if needed, we'd just adjust the other groceries. I'd just go for it. You never know how long it'll take to get pregnant.

Good luck and follow your gut.

We're in a similar situation. We just feel like 'the time' is right to start. We assume there'll always be a reason to postpone, so we just said: let's go! Last pill today! We already have a kid, and the 'cost' works out pretty well. You can spread out the diapers, and the rest goes on the baby registry.
