Instinct or early period?

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and a bit unsure, but I wanted to share my story. It's nothing special, but I'd just like to hear your thoughts.

I stopped taking the pill in August because my boyfriend and I decided to expand our little family. The first cycle lasted 28 days, the second 30 days. I thought that was pretty regular. I've always had sore breasts from ovulation until my period. The pain would disappear immediately after my period started.

Now, in cycle 3, I'm having breast pain again from ovulation, and about a week before my expected period, I have red bleeding. It's different from my usual flow in that it's more 'watery' in consistency... I can't really describe it better. It's not as much as my usual period, but still quite a lot, enough that I need to use a tampon.
The breast pain went away immediately.

I don't really have other 'pregnancy symptoms' except that I feel like I need to pee more often... but that could just be in my head, maybe because I'm really focusing on it.
Meanwhile, it's day 3 of the bleeding and I still don't know what to make of it. I read almost everywhere that implantation bleeding is brownish discharge, but I can't really shake the feeling that this might be implantation bleeding.

What do you think? Implantation or maybe I'm not as 'regular' as I thought and these are just early periods?

I'd really like to hear your opinions on this and maybe hear if you've had similar experiences and what it turned out to be for you.

    Hi Hatsjoo,

I've been off the pill for about 6 months.
My cycles have also been quite irregular.
I've had a few cycles of 41 days.
I was often late and took tests regularly.
My last cycle was 68 days long, after which I got my period and had the same thing as you: a bleeding that only lasted 2 days.
It didn't look like menstrual blood; it had a light pinkish-red color and was really watery with no clots... and not much blood loss. After those 2 days, the bleeding stopped... nothing for a day... and then only brown when wiping... so I don't know either.
I once had implantation bleeding, and it was really brown/very dark red, but then my period started anyway. But they say implantation bleeding can also be light red.

    Best wishes
