I'd like to start a second one again 3 weeks before my daughter's first birthday. My husband thinks that's way too fast; he says it's too early then our daughter Lela is still too young. What do you all think? How do you think about this? Do you also think it's too close together?

Should I first enjoy our little girl and delay it, or do you think it's a nice age to have a sister or brother? I'd love to hear your opinion because my husband has made me doubt this.

We’d also like a second one in about a year, maybe even sooner. I thought we’d start when he turns 1, but my husband wants to wait another year. Our little boy is almost 6 months old—jeez, time flies!

But first, enjoy this time. A wish for a second child is definitely there!!

P.S. Do you miss the pregnant belly already? I couldn’t believe it, but I had a good pregnancy.

When our oldest was 1, I was 5 weeks pregnant with the second. Now it's super fun (they're almost 4 and 2 now), but the first year and the pregnancy itself felt really tough because the oldest was still so little.

Our son turns 1 in January, and by then we'd also like to go for the second one. I think it's really nice if there isn't too much time between their ages. If it were up to my husband, we'd try now, but I feel like I want to wait just a little longer.

When would your husband want to do it, roughly?

    Good luck!
    Love

Sorry, I missed it. I see it now in your post.

With our 3 girls, there's always a 2.5-year gap between them. I think it's ideal! They're just out of diapers and already a bit more independent. Here in Belgium, they start school at 2.5 too, so I have plenty of daytime attention for the youngest. They also always play together so nicely!

    Good luck with your choice!

Hi M, my husband wants to enjoy these first few years with my daughter Lela first. He thinks it's nice to start on a second one when Lela is 3 or 4 years old.
