Ladies, what do you think of the name Annelotte for a girl?

I'm expecting a girl and I think Annelotte is a lovely name. I told my mom about it, but she wasn't very enthusiastic. She thought it was a bit "tuttig" (cute/sweet) and somewhat old-fashioned. I know my husband and I need to decide together, but somehow I'm still sensitive to my mom's opinion, even though I'm an adult woman now, ha ha! Anyway, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the name. If you think other names are prettier, please let me know! Best wishes, Teyler

    Hi Teyler...

Sorry to say this, but I kind of agree with your mom! Names are super personal, and if this is your name, you should go for it and not let your mom make you doubt! It's not a weird name or anything... it can work!
I prefer shorter names. Our 5-month-old daughter is called Mana... also very personal and definitely not everyone's choice! We're happy with it, and that's what matters!
    Good luck
    Love, Lynn

Sorry Teyler, but if I may be honest, I don't think the name Annelotte fits the times anymore. I get what your mom means by "old-fashioned," and to me, the name seems a bit outdated, but that's just my personal opinion. If you think it's beautiful, go for it! I prefer names like Jaylin or Pascale—my daughter is called Pascale. Good luck with your choice! Greetings, Stefanie

Hi Teyler, I don't think it's an ugly name, but I wouldn't give it to my daughter myself. I prefer modern names, but follow your gut feeling. My little girl is named Nikki Mechien. Something for you, greetings Sonja

I think Annelotte is a lovely name. Personally, I prefer longer names and not short ones. The nice thing about this name is that she’ll basically have 3 options later on. She can call herself Annelotte, but she can also go with Anne or Lotte.
