Man, now I'm feeling so unsure.

Hi,

I'm 1 day overdue, took a test and it shows a faint line, which I think means I'm pregnant. I told my husband, who agreed to stop the pill 3 months ago, but now he's suddenly unsure about it. I think he didn't expect it so soon and it's probably going too fast for him. Has anyone else experienced this? Because I can't share my joy with him.

Best regards

Well... first of all, a cautious congratulations. You should never assume it will take long or not long. With the first one, it took a year or more, and with the other, it was immediate. And if your husband agreed to it... then he should also know that you could get pregnant like this. The second one here also happened faster than expected, but they were just as happy about it as if it had taken a year!! Try to enjoy it, and he will come around in time once he sees your belly grow and the baby arrives after 9 months.

Thanks for your reply! Yes, it's still very early. I have an appointment with the GP tomorrow for a blood test. I didn't expect it to happen so quickly either. Our friends have been trying for half a year without success, and my sister-in-law also took six months, so I thought it would be something like that. But I'm super happy now, even though it's a bit of a shock. It's a shame my husband isn't sharing this happiness yet; he probably needs a bit more time to get used to the idea. It's our first baby, and we're both 23, so I think that's a good age.

Yes, that's a lovely age. We got our first one then too... it's probably just that he needs to get used to it, and it's true that it often takes a bit longer than immediately. With our first, it was like that too—only after 1.5 years of being pregnant, and with the second, through a fertility clinic for a few months, after stopping the pill for half a year. I have PCOS... so I have a very irregular cycle. ..
Despite everything, now I have 2 healthy boys... one is 6 years old and the other is 1 month old!!

Oh how nice, yes I'm not exactly the healthiest either, I have a nerve disorder, but before we tried for a baby we checked if it's hereditary and it's not, so our future baby won't have it, which is good.
Yeah, it happened very quickly for us, because I expected that with all the medication I was taking (which I've of course stopped) it might take longer, but that wasn't the case.
A little boy of one month, still really a tiny little baby then

hi little one i was pregnant with my first after 5 years of trying and i was so sad that it took so long started doubting myself whether i deserved a child or not every month another disappointment and that for 5 years but my wish only grew bigger i went to the hospital for tests but nothing came up i wasn't sick ovulation was good uterus was good i even got a compliment that i had a nice uterus didn't know that was a thing then i got the last test to check fallopian tubes for blockages or adhesions also nothing looked wrong to see the fallopian tubes well they spotted a kind of fluid after the test they said the gynecologist your fallopian tubes look fine so we see no clear reason why it's not working he said i advise you to try for a baby now within these 6 weeks because you are now as it were these 6 weeks extra fertile because of the fluid we injected to see your fallopian tubes well you become more fertile as it were of course so use these 6 weeks it's not certain but you seem to have a better chance if after 6 weeks you haven't become pregnant we'll see what we can do further so i went home and followed the advice i was nervous would i really be more fertile these 6 weeks just because of that contrast fluid? but then in june i was overdue the first day overdue i didn't dare to be happy but when i was more and more days overdue i got more and more hope when i was 5 days overdue i felt a very severe painful stab in my belly i felt it felt different than period pain could it be implantation pain? i thought hopefully i still remember it well i was in the bath then 2 days later tested with a pregnancy test and very clearly 2 thick dark purple stripes you couldn't ignore that so clear what i was happy in seventh heaven finally after 5 years my wish my heart's wish came true but when i showed it to my boyfriend he wasn't happy you know what he said i still have to divorce my ex and i thought he was already divorced he lied to me all those years he said give me 1 week to break up with her then i'll tell her about us my heart broke i burst into tears how was this possible and right at this moment when i should be so happy it was double i sent him to his wife i felt insecure and

and I felt sad and at the same time super happy about my pregnancy. I couldn't reach him because his wife had turned off his phone. He had made an appointment with me that he would call me. He also has a son who was already 11 years old. I'll just mention this, all this was in 2008. I knew about his son from the beginning of our relationship, but he didn't mention that they weren't really divorced yet. They had taken a break for a while and then he met me. He called me and said he was coming to see me the next week and that he was happy with us.

baby growing in your belly, I barely managed to end the marriage and cut contact with my wife, and then she said she won't allow any contact between her and my son. She's furious and I have to wait and see if he wants contact with me when he's an adult. Meanwhile, our little girl is almost 5 now, her name is Yara. He went to every single prenatal appointment with me and helped me as much as possible during childbirth. He was such a support, truly amazing. He's been taking care of our daughter Yara from the very beginning. When I work, he's really a wonderful father and she's crazy about him. He changed all her diapers and would get up at night when she cried.

    Hey Fay,

What a touching story, Seg. It's hard to believe something like that could happen, but I'm glad everything turned out okay for you and your little girl. Now that I have confirmation from the GP, he's happy too. He just had to get used to it, I guess.

    Greetings,

I hadn't quite given up yet. I had to stop for a bit because my daughter woke up and I had to go to her. But what I wanted to say is that, luckily, it did work out well in the end, and we are now, thank God, a nice and happy little family. And then, 4 weeks before my daughter Yara's first birthday, we decided to go for a second one—a brother or sister for her.

I was afraid it would take just as long for the second one, but to my great surprise, it went much faster. My husband also thought it would take a while, but exactly 3 weeks before her first birthday, I was pregnant. It’s a little sister, so thank you now, little butterfly, for your message. Lots of luck and love, Fay.

Yes, I'm also happy that Elle's doing well. We're both 23 and it was quite a shock at first, I guess I just had to process it. And it's nice that you wanted to share your story. I find it a touching and beautiful story.

    Greetings
