Hi there,

I'm completely new here... We've been trying to get pregnant for a couple of months now...

I was supposed to get my period on Thursday, tested this morning, and it's negative...

Symptoms I've had for about a week now:

Mucus discharge
Drops of bright red blood during the implantation period
Sore lower back
Bloated belly
Hard stomach
Cramps
Sensitive nipples
More headaches than usual...

Despite all this, I tested negative... Does this mean I'll just get my period soon, or should I test again...??

Best,

    Hi Sophia,

Yeah, I was indeed on the pill. I stopped in May. I always had a fairly regular cycle of 28 or 29 days. I don't normally feel ovulation and don't use tests either... We just said we'd see how it goes... It wasn't like we were putting all our eggs in one basket to get pregnant, but now that this is happening, it's pretty exciting...

I never have these symptoms before my period normally...

It's understandable that you want to try naturally for a few months first. But since you don't know when your ovulation was, it's hard to say when you're due. It could be that this cycle is a little longer, and that's totally fine.

But I'm definitely hoping with you that it's just early pregnancy symptoms! Maybe your body just needs a few more days to produce enough hCG for a positive test. Good luck!
Let me know if you have more clarity yourself?

    Love,
    Sophia

No, indeed, but since it's normally pretty consistent at 28 days, we're assuming it'll be like that again, so... that's why we were expecting it last Thursday...

I guess I'll test again on Monday...

Good luck! I'm rooting for you!

    Hi Brouwer,

Any news? Did you test yesterday?

Tested negative this afternoon... 6 days late tomorrow... sigh

Oh, that's so sad. Maybe your cycle is a bit lower than usual... I know how frustrating this uncertainty can be. Are you still experiencing the symptoms you had last week?

    Best,
    Sophia

Yeah, but I'm usually pretty regular..

I've got a lot of headaches, sore breasts, fatigue, and a bloated belly.

We'll test again on Thursday, then I'll be a week late. If it's negative again, I'll just call the doctor...

Yes, I hope you get some clarity soon! Stay strong! Let's hope for good news.

    Big hug.

Hi Brouwer! I hope so for you too! But I have to mention that I had the same thing 2 months ago. I always had a 29-day cycle, and suddenly I was 6 days late. I stayed pregnant, really thought I was pregnant. But the tests were always negative, and at the end of the 6th day... period! After that, my cycle was back to a neat 29 days. But of course, it could also be that you're pregnant, but just test positive later!
    Greetings

Yeah, but we are aware that it doesn't have to be accurate.. it's more about that unpleasant uncertainty..

Yeah, that’s really frustrating, the uncertainty! Good luck in the coming days!

Well, the Red Sea has burst its banks

Pity, but also kind of nice somewhere

What a shame, Brouwer. Good luck in the next round!

Sorry! But what you're saying... brings clarity.
    How many rounds was this?

Well, we haven't been at it for that long yet...

I just don't have a regular cycle anymore. So now I'm guessing when I'm fertile... any tips?
