Hi!
I'm currently in the first week of my second pack of ethinylestradiol/levonorgestrel.
So I've only been on the pill for (almost) a month and a half.
But here's the thing: after my break week, I started my next pack a day too early.
To make matters worse, I had unprotected sex that same week.
I also took a few of my pills at a completely different time than usual (one morning, another afternoon or evening).
After that, I had unprotected sex again.
Now I felt (if I'm not mistaken) my ovulation (I thought the pill prevented that..?) And I'm experiencing nausea, bloating, sore breasts, stabbing and cramping in my belly, period-like pain, dark areolas, more visible veins, fatigue, etc. In short, lots of symptoms that could point to pregnancy. Can someone tell me more about this?

    Hi Marloes

All the symptoms point to the possibility that you're pregnant. But often, when you think you might be pregnant, you suddenly start feeling every symptom. It's quite possible that you are indeed pregnant, but you'll need to be patient because you can only take a test on the day you'd normally expect your period. There are tests that can detect pregnancy earlier, but if I'm not mistaken, they cost around €40. If you're really curious, I'd suggest buying one. For safety's sake, though, I'd be a bit more cautious about what you eat and drink alcohol. You never know what might happen. And if it turns out you're not pregnant, you can always go all out and enjoy a good drink. Stay positive, don't stress, and have a little more patience.

    Lots of love

I have to admit, I’d personally be surprised if I were pregnant. I’m not sure if I’m still safe (yesterday, due to circumstances, I took the pill 1-2 hours later than the previous day, and the days before that were even more off). This has been going on since I started the second pack, but sperm can survive for quite a while. As for my ovulation, I’m not sure, but I’m having period-like cramps even though I’m not due for my period yet. The symptoms do seem to point to pregnancy, but it would be in a very early stage.. However, my belly is quite bloated, quite a bit compared to before. I usually assume the symptoms are side effects of the pill.

When we were trying for a baby, I also thought I’d get my rules down first. I thought I knew my body so well. I had all the symptoms of getting my period, which are very similar to the early signs of pregnancy. In my case, I even had to go to a wedding and was already 2 days late when I took a test that was negative. I was so convinced I was going to get my period. Nope

Yes girl, have a little more patience. When were you supposed to get your period?

Should be in 2 weeks. Right now I'm around my ovulation.
