Hi

Tricky! If I were you, I’d take a test (I recommend getting the 2-pack for €5 from Kruidvat, it’s very sensitive and cheap). If it’s negative and your symptoms persist, take another test on the day you finish the second pack of pills.

I don’t know if you’d be pregnant in that case, but if so, I’d just stop taking the pill for this month.

I understand your symptoms started 2 days after you started a new pack, so you skipped the pill-free week. I have to say I always had the symptoms you describe when I swallowed the pills out of order—I always felt like I was going to get my period throughout the entire second pack!

If the tests stay negative and you don’t get your period, go back to your GP. They can do a blood test to rule out pregnancy!

Good luck!!

Oh, and if it was indeed implantation, you can test about 14 days after that (:

    Hey Kruimel,

Thanks for your reply. I have to say that I’ve missed my pill more often before and didn’t experience those symptoms then. Besides, I’ve also been having excessive saliva, which I find really weird too. Ehm, I started a new pack on Saturday, Sept 7th. The symptoms started on Sept 12th (so about 5 days later). Within that new pack, I forgot one pill and now have 9 pills left.

Oh, and I'm not sure if a pregnancy would be wanted. I'm nineteen, and besides, I don't have a stable relationship. Despite that, I don't just feel disgust, but also a kind of excitement and joy.

Well, it's not easy, girl. I had the same thing when I was 16... eventually my period came wayyyyy too late, purely because I was too stressed.

Oh, 5 days instead of 2... It doesn't really matter that much though. I'd go buy a test tomorrow if I were you. If it's negative, I won't worry so much. If you were really pregnant, it should have shown positive by now.

So despite the nerves, secretly it might actually be kind of nice to have a baby What does your 'friend' think about it?
I've been trying to get pregnant since I was 20, and I think you'd do it well if it were the case; it definitely won't be because of your age!! Do you have people to rely on if it turns out that way?

Oh shit, I'm totally off track.. Sorry!! You're right, I've been counting a week too early.. I'm not really thinking straight haha. I was basing it on ovulation instead of implantation. You can test 14 days after ovulation. But once implantation has occurred, your body starts producing the HCG hormone, which a test picks up..

So it could well be possible, because that would have been a week ago then

I'm 21 now. I can't conceive on my own, I don't ovulate, so we're getting help from the hospital now. My boyfriend is 31 and for him, time is starting to run out a bit now, he feels old haha..

It's a shame your circle isn't supportive, but your boyfriend's reaction is nice, so you're not alone from the start.

Oh dear, that's really unfortunate about your ovulation. Wow, what a coincidence: my partner is 32. He doesn't really want kids but if it happens... I do have a test at home, so I'll do it tomorrow. One more thing about the pregnancy symptoms: from which week do you usually experience them? I mean, like the nausea and such.

Anyway, I'm really glad you're helping me out, thank you!! And all the best with getting pregnant :-)

    Good morning

'So together' is a really big word for us/him... I really want to be together, he's less so. He feels less and less the need to commit, while that need is actually increasing for me. How is your relationship? And does the fact that you can't have ovulation also cause tension?

I just took a test and got the answer I've had many times before: negative. Somewhere I felt a disappointment (also because it feels like I'm fooling myself) and somewhere a relief (because it's not the right time).

So it's probably 'just' a bladder infection: I'll wait for that (the lab is testing for that). But it won't be known until Tuesday at the earliest. Xx
