Help, which girl's name is nicer and why? Lani or Lana??

Hi! We're due in December and are debating our baby girl's name. Lana was our top choice for a long time, but I've been reading online that it's often spelled backwards as "anal." I think that's a bit of a stretch, but it's still making me second-guess myself. Now we're considering Lani instead. What do you all think??

I also think that's a bit of a stretch... and I'd just go with what feels right for you!
I find it quite a tough choice... Lana is so common! Lani is nice too! We went with Mana. You hardly ever hear that one!

Good luck with your choice and have a lovely pregnancy!

    Love, Lynn and Mana

It's your choice, of course. You can always find something to say about any name. On the other hand, if kids can't tease a child for their name, they'll find something else to tease them about. Personally, I think Lani is nicer than Lana.

And yet I think Lana is nicer. Or what do you think of Lara?

    Lana

I think Lani is nicer. Never heard of it, while Lana reminds me of GTST.

Or Liana. That's also a nice name.

I think Lani is a nicer name, you hear Lana more often.

    Hi anonymous,

We also had Lana in mind for about 4 months and still think it's a beautiful name, so I'm definitely leaning towards Lana. But the problem for us is: my brother just had a girl and named her Laila. Now we're hesitating because they sound so similar. Should we change it?

    Hi Rianne,
Yeah, we're also thinking more about Lana, but Lani just keeps lingering in my head. I get your concern, but I'd still stick with the name. Honestly, it's not that bad after all.

Honestly, I don't find Lana very appealing, and Lani even less so. What do you think of Lorette or Larita?

If this name is so close to your heart, you should just go for it. Otherwise, you might regret not giving it to him. It’s not for nothing that he keeps popping into your head—it clearly means something. The name is really important to you, so just do it, I’d say.
    Lani,

What do you think of Indy-Roos?
And then I'm wondering whether to go with two first names or a hyphenated name...

Sorry, this should be posted somewhere else...
