Ovulation after a negative blood test?

Hi ladies,
I need your wise advice; last Monday I went to the gynecologist and after an internal ultrasound she told me that I probably had ovulated at that time. I already thought that was strange, because it was cycle day 25 and my shortest cycle up to then was 43 days (so ovulation around cycle day 29) and my longest cycle was 63 days (so ovulation around cycle day 49).
I had blood drawn on Monday and today she called to say it wasn't a good ovulation.
Could it be that it was too early after all and that I still have to ovulate?
