When do you tell your other kids that you're pregnant???
I'm 8 weeks pregnant now and already had an ultrasound with a beating heart.
We wanted to tell my in-laws this weekend.
But our 3.5-year-old daughter still doesn't know. She did see the ultrasound and said "that's a baby" but she didn't make the connection with me..

    Hi Lin,

I think the best time is when everyone is allowed to know, because imagine if you don't want everyone to know, a child can't keep their mouth shut…

A friend of mine experienced this, her parents and in-laws didn't know yet and the child just blurted it out.

Good luck and big congratulations on your pregnancy

With little kids, I think it's best to start telling them as early as possible. One time isn't enough. You need to calmly guide them and explain what it all means. Hopefully, by the end of the pregnancy, they'll have a good understanding of what it means to get a little brother or sister.

I have a 3-year-old daughter myself and I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant. We told her once everything turned out to be fine. That was at 13 weeks because we opted for the combined test and had the 13-week scan (early 20-week scan).

We're really glad we told her back then. She was so proud and still is, and she has all the patience. We explained to her roughly when the baby would come. Since ours is due around November 12th, we said it would be around St. Martin's Day, and also how big my belly should get first. She understands it really well and regularly checks how big my belly is, and she even tells me herself that it's not big enough yet (she demonstrates this by making a gesture).

Maybe another fun tip for you with your daughter. Involve her in everything, like choosing things for the baby's room and clothes. That's what we do with our daughter, and she loves it. She's been allowed to help with curtains, wallpaper, and choosing clothes.

    @Lin,

Of course, congratulations on your pregnancy!
We told people after the test results came back good.
I actually wanted to wait until 20 weeks, but I already had a pretty big belly quite early on, so we told them at 12 or 13 weeks.
But if I were you, I wouldn’t really tell people right away—it spread super fast among us.

Just do what feels right for you...
    Greetings, MavanMi

Hmm, I've already ordered a book called "A Baby is Growing in Mama's Tummy."
We're going to tell her gradually that she's going to be a big sister.

I can't help you unfortunately, I have no experience with it. My eldest daughter was 1 year old when I got pregnant with the second one. She didn't even notice that my belly was getting bigger. She didn't consciously realize that I was pregnant with her sister, which is kind of a pity. She was still too young to understand. She was just 1 when I found out I was pregnant again, so I couldn't share it with her. I found it emotionally very hard because I suddenly realized how my little girl had to share me. Oh, oh, I cried. She was still so small and deserved attention, and I was terribly nauseous from the pregnancy. Poor thing. She had to share me at such a young age. She never really had me all to herself.

By getting pregnant again so soon, I never really had the chance to build a bond with my oldest.
