It'll be here soon, and our first daughter will be born. I've been thinking about her name for weeks. I'm afraid I might regret it later. I already posted a poll, but only got 1 response... I'm torn between Fäbel and Evoleth...

Please advise ????. Thanks

I think Evoleth is really beautiful.. and definitely unique... You should do what makes you feel good.

    Hey future dad.

    Evoleth.. what a unique name.
    Beautiful name.

I feel the same as what the girls say about me.
    Go with your gut feeling.
It's not easy. Especially because you're torn
    about choosing a name.
    But whatever you choose.
    Choose with your heart.

    Best, Ivy

I think Fäbel is really beautiful, especially if you're going to shorten it. Then you'll have Fë (or little feet) with Evoleth, which might be a bit tricky but is definitely a beautiful name too.

    Good luck with the choice!

    Evoleth

I think both are really beautiful. Fabel can be nicely abbreviated (that was already mentioned). Evoleth might be trickier to abbreviate, but maybe go with Evi?

We also couldn't decide between two names. We gave them both to the name problem solver. Problem solved! Good luck!

    Hi there, future dad,
It's nice that you're trying to find a place for your insecurities here.
Personally, I think you shouldn't rely on others to decide what your future child's name should be. This is such a personal decision that outsiders don't need to have a say in it.

You can indeed give your child both names and let them choose later which one they want to use as a nickname.

    Yes, that's really nice!
    Fabel Evoleth..

    Sounds nice, doesn't it?
And it's quite a personal decision.
What do your friend or wife think of it?

    Evoleth learns naturally :-)

My daughter's name is Benthe... I always love the fancy version

Why with an H, seems unnecessary to me. Curious what the rest of you think...

You should use the name you feel most comfortable with. We also had doubts at first because many Dutch people struggle with pronouncing the "th" sound. Our son is named Ethan (and we mean it in the English way). But we had this feeling like, "we're choosing the name, not the rest of the world." Now we're having another son, and he'll be called Aiden, again in the English way.

The funny thing is, my little boy (over 2 years old) pronounces his name even better than the average person.
