Water broke too early

Kirrii
Hey everyone!

Not such good news for me
I'm now 18 weeks pregnant and my waters broke yesterday.
I'm currently in the hospital, and it doesn't look so good according to the doctor

Yesterday there was no amniotic fluid visible, but the baby's heart was still beating well. Another scan on Monday to see how things are progressing

Hopefully everything turns out okay because I wouldn't wish miscarriage on anyone, especially after having three

Oh no, that's so sad. I'm speechless, don't know what to say.

I hope everything turns out okay. Wishing you all lots of strength!

Oh my goodness. That's so sad! I'm speechless for a moment. Can they do anything for the little one?

Just spoke to the doctor and I had to choose: either lie flat for weeks, but then the risk of stillbirth is still high and he might not breathe properly or have a disability, or give birth tomorrow but then he'll also be stillborn.

I suddenly got short pains, it's going to be tough, but we have to get through it

Oh, what a terrible choice you have to make. Bah. Are you getting professional help with making a decision? Whatever you choose, you'll make the right choice. Your decision will be based on the well-being of the baby. That's the only thing I can offer you...

Yeah, indeed. Tomorrow after the birth, someone from the social services will come and talk to us.

i'm speechless too, but yeah as Mamavan2 says, whichever choice you make will be the right one! hopefully everything turns out well!!!!

It weighs a lot, they also advise me to go see the baby after the birth so I don't regret it later and think I did the best thing. It will be an emotional time we have to go through
  8. charlotje #9

Yeah, maybe you'll regret it later if you don't see your baby... pff I really find it terrible... I really wish you all lots of strength!!!!

    Hi girl,

As you probably know, I went through this with my second child. She was born at 21 weeks. At first, I didn't want to see her. I just wanted to forget everything as quickly as possible. The hospital advised me to see her anyway, because otherwise we might regret it later, and to just take pictures. Whether you'll look at them again, you'll see later on. They prepare you after the birth for what your baby looks like. It happens step by step. You'll see that when you see your baby, you'll think she's the most beautiful baby in the world, even if she's very small. She's your baby after all. In the end, I also held our daughter and admired her just as much as our first daughter. I later looked at the pictures several times. Give your baby a name if you want to. That's what we were advised to do, and that's what we did. Then it becomes less difficult to talk about it. If you still feel like asking me questions, feel free to send me a private message.

Thank you all for the support, it does me so much good

@Mamavan2: That's exactly how it went for me too. The birth went smoothly. I wanted to see the baby too, and I'm glad I did it, and my partner did it too.
A very difficult moment, of course!

We're going to have our little boy buried in a special spot on the cemetery; it seemed like the best option to us.

    Glad it's doing you good.
I'm happy it helped you feel better after seeing your baby, and it's definitely tough... That went by really fast then.
Yes, you should do what feels right for you.
Lots of strength for the coming days. Is the realization coming a bit yet?

    Love, mamavan2

Yeah, definitely, I'm trying to cope with it.
And yeah, it'll probably be tough for a while, especially with the outside world, but everything in good time.
