You pronounce it as don-nee, with the stress on "nee" (like yes and no).

    Honestly, I don’t think it’s a beautiful name.

But if you all find it lovely, just go for it!

I agree with Esmee, definitely go for it if you both think it's pretty, but personally I don't find it a very pretty girl's name. I'd lean more towards Dionne, for example.

Not really beautiful. And the spelling isn't either. I'm not really into this 'category' of names, but I think Madee or Madé is a prettier name.

    I think it's a really beautiful name!!
Only I would change the spelling a bit. For example Donne and then an ' above the e. (I just can't figure out how to do that on my computer)
Don't let anyone talk you out of this name because of forum reactions! It really is such a lovely name!

Thanks for your reply! It's nice that you like the name. I still think it's great myself. Fortunately, not everyone has to agree on it here, and everyone has the right to their own opinion. The spelling is indeed something to think about. Thanks!

    or daphne

    Honestly, I don't think it's a beautiful name, sorry.

I also think that a lot of messing around with the name will happen by playmates. The first thing that came to my mind was "dom hee en don-nee!"

I'm thinking of Donny. And so of a boy's name. Donné would be much nicer, yes! It also makes it more feminine.

I think it's a nice name. You want to pronounce it as "don" no? If I understand correctly... I'd rather go for "doe-nee".

    Special name, nice

It sounds like the pastor from the church, which is funny but sounds boyish. I initially thought it was meant for a young person, not meant to be rude though, because tastes differ, of course. But I don't really find it a name; I can't really see it as a name. Whenever I hear this name, I immediately think of the pastor from the church.

Not really my thing, but nothing wrong with it. I'd definitely go with the spelling Donné.
  15. Anonymous Guest #16

I think it's nice and unique. The spelling is your own choice, but it should also be clear to people how to pronounce it. So, no idea, not wrong at all.

Terrible! I live in France, donne means given (or the whole verb Donner = to give) but yeah, for someone who doesn't live in France it might be nice...
