Girl's name Noè

Hi,

We've come up with a lovely name but aren't sure how best to spell it so it's pronounced correctly. It's a girl's name: Noè (pronounced No-eh) with a short e. Is Noè the right way to write it? Because with Noé you say No-ee, and with Noë you say no-ee.

    I would pronounce it exactly the way you have in mind! I think it's a lovely name and I'd also say you'd write it as Noé!

    Jan, but as you're writing it now, you pronounce it as No-ee, I believe. So I think the hyphen should point the other way, right?

    I’d definitely write it with an è, otherwise people might think it’s an ee.

    You're right. That's how you'd spell it if you want it pronounced as No-e. I think it's a lovely name.
    Personally, I think No-ee sounds nicer, but you didn't ask for my opinion.
    It sounds sweet!
