Addressing meter

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be the proud godmother of a friend's baby girl soon. Now we're trying to figure out what she'll call me. I'm only 27, so we're looking for something more modern than "meter" or "meetje"

Any ideas?

Personally, I find this kind of thing really old-fashioned.. Like 'uncle...' and 'aunt...'.. Terrible.
How can't a child just call you by your first name?
But this is of course my opinion

I'm going to be an aunt soon, and I've already told them that the baby can just call me by my first name later on, not aunt.

I think parents should decide that themselves. The grandma of our baby thinks our child should call her "first name" when they're older. But I absolutely disagree with that. I want my child to show respect to older people. So "oma" and the last name. Parents aren't called by their first names either! Well, it does happen, I know that. But not with us. And that's how our brothers and sisters will be called "oom" and "tante" too. But I think everyone should decide that for themselves. What do you think is important? I can imagine you feel too young to be addressed as "meter," but I really have no idea how you'd manage that.
