13 days overdue

Essie88
Hi everyone,

I'm almost 2 weeks overdue and I've taken 2 tests, both of which were negative.
I also have frequent but small amounts of urination.
And a gurgling stomach.
I'm also getting hungry faster.
Getting tired quicker and having back pain.
Could I be pregnant or is something else going on?
And what can I do to get clarity for myself?

Best, Essie88

How long have you been off the pill/IUD/NuvaRing/etc.?

If you just stopped, you might still be coming off the hormones, so it's not really "overdue" yet. Because then you don't know exactly how long your cycle is. (Some have to wait up to 90 days before their first period comes... Others are lucky and get it after 28 days.)

If you've been off it for a while and have a clear idea of your cycle, you should probably see your GP. It's possible you're pregnant but producing hCG slowly, so the tests stay negative... But this would already show up in a blood test.

It could also be that your hormones are messed up due to stress or something similar. Your GP and gynecologist are the only ones who can give you a proper answer.

I stopped the pill earlier this year. Since then, I've had a regular cycle of 33 days. And since this is longer than usual, I'm starting to worry about it.

Few women have the perfect 28-day cycle
My cycle is even 40 days.
As long as it's between 21-40 days, there's nothing to worry about. So with your 33, you definitely don't need to stress! If you've counted those 13 days after your 33-day cycle, I'd just go see your doctor. Explain your situation, get some blood tests done, and then you'll know more. That's the only way to get clarity!
    Good luck!

Okay. I'll wait a bit more next week and then go to the GP.
Normally I get my period after 33 days, so it's weird that I haven't had it yet.
My boyfriend and I find it strange that I haven't had my period but the test is negative.
I took a test 2 days after I was late, and this Wednesday when I was 10 days late.
But this uncertainty is really getting to me.

@Essie, I'm also feeling unsure right now and I'm overdue too. On Wednesday afternoon I got a very faint positive test, but it was so faint that I didn't trust it. On Thursday I tested again (with a less sensitive test) and it came back negative. So I'll test again on Sunday. I haven't been overdue as long as you have, but if I don't get a positive test and also no contractions by the end of next week, I'll go to the hospital too. This uncertainty just makes you so anxious..

I'm going to do another test on Monday.
So far I've always used the same test.
    The Clear Blue digital one.
    But every time it's negative.
But I'm going to test one more time. If this is also negative, then maybe I'll just go to the doctor.

    Hi Poesh,
Have you taken a test yet?
I’m going to test first thing tomorrow morning; I’m now 15 days late.
If it’s negative again, I’ll contact the GP.
Then we’ll see what they say.
    Greetings, Essie88

No, not yet.. I think I'll test again tomorrow and go to her on Thursday evening...

    Hi Poesh,
have you heard anything more by now?
Not me yet, no one's called.
But I'm now 3 weeks overdue.
    Greetings

Essie, sorry, completely forgot to post this here too..
No, actually I don't remember anymore.. The blood test was negative, if I don't get my period by Thursday I have to go back for another blood test.
Any idea when you'd contact your midwife? I feel much calmer now.. I know I'm not pregnant, it's just a slim chance, so I hope my period comes soon so we can move on.. I like that it's being monitored now, I think he'll check hormones more closely now.. That way they get an idea of where you are in your cycle. I'll hear on Thursday, but I'd rather just get my period now because I don't believe I'm pregnant after all.. There are stories online about negative blood tests but still being pregnant, but I think that's so rare that I'm not really counting on it.

Of course, I hope I'm pregnant too.
But I've also heard that you can skip a period.
So I should get my period again next Friday.
So I'll wait a bit longer.
And then I'll go to the doctor.
  12. Poesh #13

Yeah, I’ve heard that too, but I don’t feel like just sitting around waiting for 80 days... Especially since I have 40-day cycles... That’s why I already went to see my doctor .
  13. Essie88 started this #14

Oh yeah. I'm almost there now and want to test again this week too.
But well, I've never missed a period with the MS before, so I find it weird that I would now.
  14. Essie88 started this #15

Still haven't gotten my period and the tests are still negative.
Took a test yesterday and it was negative.
I should be getting my period by the end of this week if I'm a month late.
So tomorrow I'll already be 4 weeks overdue.
So I'm starting to get worried now.
  15. Poesh #16

Just spoke with the midwife, my values now are the values just before ovulation (Friday). So he thinks I just skipped a cycle, and that roughly matches a 40-day cycle.. So now it's waiting until June 24th.. Then no period or a positive test towards the end of that week, I need to get further examined. So ultimately a cycle of 80 days.. Hopefully this is just once.
  16. Poesh #17

Essie, have you gotten your period yet or still not?

If I have to believe the app, I should get it at the latest around June 24th..
  17. Essie88 started this #18

I got my period last week, but it was only for a very short time.
I was only bleeding for 2.5 days, which is usually longer.
But anyway, new round, new chances.
I’ll ovulate around the 24th, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
So we keep hoping for the best.
  18. Poesh #19

So you just skipped a cycle, just like me. (Normally, that is.)
  19. Essie88 started this #20

Yeah, I guess so, but 2.5 days before my period feels pretty short, since I normally have my period for 4 to 5 days.
