Hi there, I have a small question.

I found out a few weeks ago that I'm pregnant, totally unexpectedly since I'm on the pill. I've decided to keep the little one, but I'd really like to know exactly when he was conceived. I had an appointment with the gynecologist yesterday, and she said I was 9 weeks and 5 days along. But a few weeks back, the radiologist gave me a different answer. He calculated me at 8 weeks and 5 days (at that time, I was 5 weeks), so there's a week's difference here. I assumed that meant I got pregnant on February 23, which happens to be a special evening for me, but now the gynecologist says it was a week earlier. I'm a bit confused and wonder if it's still possible that I got pregnant on that date, or maybe a week earlier, or even earlier still, because I read somewhere that you always have to add 2 weeks. Can someone give me an answer on this?

Hey Ella, you can type into Google: "when was I conceived", and it will give you various sites where you have to enter the date of your last period. Since you're on the pill, I assume you still know pretty well when your period was. Enter the date of the first day of your last period. Those sites are often quite accurate. I was told I conceived between Dec 1 and Dec 10, so there's a 10-day window, and the calculation sites gave me Dec 10 as the likely date. I hope this helps you! And I hope for you that it was conceived on that one special day, giving your baby an even more beautiful meaning. Love!

In principle, the gynecologist is right (if it was measured via ultrasound). This is still the most reliable measurement.

The sites that calculate it are less accurate because they also don't know when ovulation occurred; they can at best make a good guess.

Yeah, but it's not like if your ultrasound shows you're 9 weeks and 2 days pregnant, that the egg was fertilized exactly 9 weeks and 2 days ago? Or am I getting it wrong?
