positive ovulation test

hi hi

just a quick explanation ...
stopped the pill about a year ago and my cycle varies from 30 to 45 days (with an outlier of 48)
got my period 6 weeks ago
3 weeks ago had a positive ovulation test from Clearblue.
So, 1 week late, but no positive pregnancy test and the blood test was also negative!
According to the blood test, ovulation should have already happened ...

if my period doesn't come back within 2 weeks, I'll go back to the doctor to get another blood test (it's been since last Thursday)
Meanwhile, it's clear that a positive ovulation test doesn't always indicate ovulation but just a rise in the hormone, but still.
How can you know when you ovulate with an irregular cycle then ....

cheers

    That’s tricky, but definitely doable.

With temperature tracking, you can see when ovulation happened in hindsight, so that’s one way to spot it. The downside... you can’t time intercourse specifically because the temperature rise only shows up AFTER ovulation.

I’ve developed a method where I can see ovulation coming, so you can plan accordingly. I usually notice signs about 4 days before it actually happens. You might want to check out www.thermo-meters.nl—they also explain how to get accurate temperature readings and have more detailed info that you might find interesting.

So yes, it’s definitely possible. My cycles also vary between 29 and 44 days.
