Hi there!

I'm pregnant and 19 years old. My boyfriend is 22 and we've been together for a year and a half now.
Things aren't going well at home.
I'm only just pregnant, so my parents don't know yet because I know how they'll react. They won't be happy about it.
I read somewhere that you can apply for emergency housing through the municipality.
Apparently, this is only possible if you frame it as a medical issue.
My boyfriend and I really want our own place, especially now that I'm pregnant.
Staying at home with my unborn baby doesn't seem like a good idea.
I'm under too much stress at home and the situation isn't great.
Has anyone here applied for emergency housing and how did you do it? I understood that you first need to go through your GP, who can then give you a letter to the municipality or something like that?

Best wishes

    Hi Emmy

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy. Despite all the hassle around it, try to enjoy it!
If I were you, I'd contact http://www.siriz.nl/. They can give you advice for your first questions.
You can also go to your GP, of course. But I'm not sure how that works. I advise you to confide in someone (an aunt, grandma, teacher) and maybe have a conversation with your parents together.

I wish you lots of strength and luck. And above all, try to enjoy it!

    Best wishes, Nijn
