midwife/gynecologist

I have a question because this is all new to me.
How do I get in touch with a midwife/gynecologist?
Do I need to go through my GP, or do I have to apply somewhere specifically?

Love, anonymous

Are you from Belgium or the Netherlands?

Here in Belgium, you can just call a gynecologist yourself, but I've heard it's different in the Netherlands, so if you're from the Netherlands, just ignore my reply

    I'm from the Netherlands, yes.
So can someone from the Netherlands help me and explain how it works here?

You can look for a midwife near you and call them to make an appointment. They will pass it on to your GP.

    Okay, thank you! x

Call the GP yourself in your area to make an appointment and inform your own family doctor. The GP won't do this for you.
    Good luck:-)

You have to find the VK yourself, and they give you a form with the signature of the VK (pregnancy declaration) that you have to submit yourself (at the counter).
