Hi!
My question is how expensive folic acid is approximately and if you can also get it at Kruidvat for example?

Love x

Not that expensive, a few euros and you can just grab it at Kruidvat.

Money shouldn't be a reason not to take folic acid anyway, because folic acid is really, really important!!!

    Okay, thank you!
    No, I know that too.
It was just a question. Because my boyfriend is going to pick it up for me and he doesn’t have much money right now, he needed to know the approximate price.

When should you actually start taking folic acid? Because I'm not pregnant yet. X
  4. Eefje Guest #5

From the moment you have a desire for pregnancy, so now

Haha okay. But if I'm not pregnant, I still took that folic acid. Should I stop taking it right away? Or just keep swallowing it?

On the folic acid bottle from Kruidvat it says: start taking it 4 weeks before conception until 8 weeks after conception. So if you're not pregnant, you can just keep taking it, I think!

Folic acid can't do any harm, so just keep taking it until you're pregnant (even if it takes a year, for example).
Most people indeed say to start taking it 4 weeks in advance, so that the levels are high enough for the little miracle

I started when we were trying to conceive, and after 4 months, we were already pregnant—actually quite quickly.

    Okay, thanks for the info!
    I'll start swallowing tonight then.

By the way, it's best after your meal too It can sometimes be quite heavy on the stomach

    Okay, thank you!
Then I'll do it every evening before I go to bed.

The Kruidvat jar is recommended for breakfast. So I do it every morning.

Kruidvat jar? I have those red oval pills and they come in a box (from Kruidvat). I'll read the leaflet, haha, since you're both saying different things. x

For me, it even says: preferably take during meals. Haha.
  15. Poesh #16

Right before, during, or right after eating is the same, right ladies
It would make a difference if it said, half an hour before or half an hour after eating. If it says "after eating," does that mean right after eating?
I take it every morning after my breakfast.

Then I'll take it after my breakfast.
  17. anoniempje Guest #18

It said "preferred" and not "direct."
  18. Poesh #19

Preferably with meals. If you take it right after eating, it’s basically the same thing

Can you just grab a banana or some chocolate after swallowing your folic acid, or is there a time gap you need to keep? xx
