I'm 37 weeks now and my girl already weighs 3kg600. Because of my gestational diabetes, they're going to induce me next week, but the gynecologist said it might still end up being a C-section because she's still very high up, and if it takes too long, he'll intervene. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi, I never experienced them inducing labor. With my son, he was already 4300g at 37 weeks! But they just let me continue, and he was born at 41 weeks weighing 5100g! And 59cm, so long and big.

But the birth wasn't too bad, he was here in 4 hours, and no tearing or anything like that. And no, I'm just naturally large-framed (size 40(L)) with a few extra kilos haha. I didn't have diabetes, but I just have heavy/big babies.

Good luck anyway, it'll definitely go well. I just don't quite understand why they're intervening so soon? Do they think your pelvis is too small? As far as I know, it's about the position of the head whether it fits or not, not directly about the weight.

Because of the gestational diabetes, they don't want to wait any longer, and since I'm also overweight, the longer they wait, the higher the risk, according to my gynecologist.

I’ve had experience with induction, but that was due to food poisoning. They inserted a balloon, and after 48 hours I was 3 cm dilated. Then I got contractions induced, and 3 hours later I gave birth. It all turned out to be no big deal.
