Pregnancy course?

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if you're doing pregnancy yoga, gymnastics, or swimming, or if you're planning to. And why you did or didn't. I'm not sure yet.

Love, Nijntje

I did prenatal yoga during my first pregnancy, and I really enjoyed having time for myself to relax while also learning the theory behind pregnancy and childbirth. Prenatal swimming sounds lovely too, but I'm a bit hesitant about all the bacteria in the pool water when you're pregnant, especially in those final weeks when you might have already lost your mucus plug and bacteria could more easily reach your uterus....

For the first one, I did the "Samen Bevallen" weekend course with my husband in Twente. It was very educational for both of us and super fun. For the second one, I took the on-demand online pregnancy course. Ideal! I work irregular hours, and having to arrange childcare every time didn't seem practical. This way, I could still follow a good course with my iPad on the couch. Very relaxed. It's theory only, no gym or yoga or anything like that. Practicing breathing exercises via video was also fine. The advantage was that you could watch the videos multiple times and therefore follow the lessons well. With my pregnancy-brain, I sometimes really needed that. You also get handouts that you can download, so reviewing the key points was easy too. Just see if it's something for you. www.samenbevallen.nl or www.zwangerschapscursusondemand.nl
