hi hi!
my partner and i are already convinced about the name Ruube since we found out it’s a boy..
it fits well with the last name, it’s both our first choice..
but yesterday we went to order the tickets and for the first time had to say the name out loud..
and then it started.. we obviously had to say it with 2 u's and without an n..
i don't want to burden our son with always having to explain that, but according to my partner you shouldn't have to spell your name that much anyway and it's not a big deal...
what do you think? and do you think it's a nice name? greetings!!

    Hi Sophie,

If Ruube is your first choice and you both think it's a beautiful name (which it really is!! I don't hear that often!!), then just go for it! Once they're used to the name, they won't ask anymore how it's spelled, etc. And it's not that difficult either, even if you always have to spell it. I still have to do that with my name after almost 23 years (Daphne, but it's pronounced like "Defnie" so it's not that simple either, but I wouldn't want to change the spelling anyway And our little girl here will also have to spell her name often; she's called Nyana, pronounced like "Nie-Jana"... so I just say stick to your first thought!! I think it's a super beautiful name, Ruube!

    Love, Daphne and Nyana

    Hi!

Just go for Ruube! You'll get used to explaining it. I think it's a really cool name. It's original and tough!

    Hugs, Nijn

Phew, if you have to take everyone's spelling preferences into account, everyone would be named Jan
I think Ruube is a really beautiful name and I'd definitely go for it if you're happy with it!

If you think it's a great name, you should just go for it. I think it's beautiful too, very poetic. But my husband also has a name that he always has to spell out (Indra, it's not that hard, but it still often gets misspelled), and he finds that pretty annoying. In the end, people will probably assume it's Ruben when your son introduces himself, and he'll always have to correct them. Maybe he'll find that annoying, or maybe he'll love that he has a special, uncommon name.
